Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

For Tessa, Buff Puff, Splash, Caroline, Peaches, Sylvia, Rockey, Elke and Duke, even though I have no pictures of you, your faces and personalities are as fresh today in our minds as if you were still with us. We miss you each day and know you are all waiting for us.

My little "Lytes and Syrens". We miss you everyday. We shall always remember you this way, forever on the go. I know you will be waiting at the gate of Rainbow Bridge for us.
This is our Penney. She was our first German Shorthair Female. She developed breast cancer at the ripe old age of 9. The tumor was small and we thought we got it all, we didn't. It rapidly spread and now she waits for us at Rainbow Bridge. She was a "house mouse" for the last months of her life and we miss her terribly. She was the mother of Syren.
It is our belief that there truly is a Rainbow Bridge, when any of you pass by on your way to heaven, look for us under the biggest tree with our dogs. They say when we get to heaven we will know each other by "the clothes we wear". We will wave as you pass by, but remain where we are, maybe not "streets of gold", but forever happy with those who loved us most.
Our little Duke man, you will be sorely missed here at home, we will see you again, buddy.
